Estonia: Russia has no plans to attack the Baltic countries or NATO
Kaupo Rusin, head of Estonia’s foreign intelligence service, said on Monday that Russia has no plans to attack the Baltic states or NATO in general.
According to Isna, Rusin said in an interview with ERR: “What we see today is that Russia currently has no intention to attack any of the Baltic countries or NATO.”
He added that there is no evidence that Russia is now deliberately seeking to “escalate the situation”.
“Sergei Ryabkov”, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, announced last week that Russia does not intend to attack the countries of the European Union and NATO and is ready to legalize this matter as well.
Russian President Vladimir Putin also said in an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson in 2024 that Moscow has no intention of attacking NATO countries.
Putin has emphasized that Western politicians are trying to divert voters’ attention from domestic problems by raising the “imaginary threat of Russia”. He added: “Smart people know very well that this issue is fake.”
