Egypt’s Foreign Minister: The gas agreeme with Israel is purely economic – Mehr News agency RCO News Agency

According to Mehr news agency, quoted from Russia Elium, “Badr Abdul Ati“, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt on Sunday evening in a television ierview with the network “MBCEgypt emphasized that the gas agreeme between Egyptian, American and Israeli companies is a purely economic and commercial coract and does not have any political dimensions.
Abdul Ati While rejecting the rumors about the existence of political conditions or special arrangemes in this agreeme, he noted: “Egypt is absolutely sure that it is acting on the basis of its national ierests in this case, and the claims related to the influence of foreign parties on Egypt’s gas supply are unreal.”
He poied out that Egypt has two large natural gas liquefaction stations in Adco and Damiettaconsidered this capacity as a strategic advaage that has turned his coury io a regional ceer for gathering and liquefaction and then exporting gas.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt also announced the beginning of the flow of Cypriot gas in the near future, which will be liquefied and re-exported in Egypt, just like Israel’s gas.
Abdul Ati He added: “Egypt is diversifying its energy sources and plans to increase the share of new and renewable energies to 42% by 2035.”
He poied to the new oil and gas discoveries in the Nile Delta and the Western Sahara, which will strengthen domestic production and reduce dependence on imports.
On the other hand, Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime, announced on December 17, 2025 that this agreeme worth 112 billion shekels (about 35 billion dollars) is considered the largest gas coract in the history of the Israeli regime and will bring an income of 58 billion shekels to the coffers of this regime.
