According to the Mehr News Agency, the American Axios website wrote in a report: US President Donald Trump plans to publish several statements about Gaza in early January, but the next steps regarding the future of the region will depend on his meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Maralago on Monday.
Axios quoted a Zionist official and wrote: White House officials believe that Netanyahu is moving the Gaza peace process slowly. The Israeli prime minister hopes to bring Trump’s views closer to his radical views.
According to the report, the White House is seeking to implement the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, possibly to hold a Gaza Peace Council on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos in January.
Axios pointed to Netanyahu’s recent meeting with the influential Republican Senator Lindsey Graham and wrote: In this meeting, the Prime Minister of Israel expressed doubts about the ideas of Steve Weitkoff and Jared Kushner, the chief American negotiators.
This American media evaluated Maralago’s meeting as crucial for determining the future of Gaza and wrote: It is not clear whether Trump will follow the ideas of Witkoff and Kushner or whether Netanyahu will be able to lead him to his desired direction.
Axios wrote: One of the messages that Trump and his team are expected to emphasize in the meeting with Netanyahu is that he should stay away from war and think about peace.
The media of the Zionist regime had previously announced that Netanyahu will meet with Trump on Monday evening (December 29) in Maralago, the residence of the US president in the state of Florida.
