Zahra Madzigan’s emphasis on the importance of Tehran-Baku cooperation to protect children in the digital space
The daughter of Iran’s preside, Zahra Meshidian, who attended the Iernational Conference on Child Protection in the Digital Space in Baku, emphasized that the effective protection of children in the digital space, which is beyond traditional borders, is not considered as an iernal or national issue of a coury, and stated that the common values and priorities of Iran and Azerbaijan are the basis for the cooperation of the parties to realize mutual benefits in this area.
According to RCO News Agency, “Zahra Meshidian”, the daughter of the Preside of Iran and the head of the Iranian delegation prese at the Conference on Safeguarding Children in the Digital Space, which was held in Baku with iernational participation, stated in an ierview that “the cooperation between Iran and Azerbaijan in the field of supporting children and adolesces in the digital space, considering the existence of values, lifestyles, common family principles between the two couries, and the great importance of children for the two couries, can be mutually responsive to the ierests of the two couries.”
The Trend News agency reported that Zahra Medeshian explained in an ierview with this media: “Iran and Azerbaijan can help each other to secure ierests by exchanging educational experiences, holding joi specialized meetings in legislative, legal and technical fields, and establishing cooperation mechanisms between related organizations such as cyberspace police and releva ministries.”

According to the doctors, “Creating joi training courses, launching shared platforms considering common needs and ierests, setting up monitoring programs and cooperation between governmes to monitor these platforms and producing games and programs that can provide a healthier environme for children are among the poteial areas of joi cooperation between the two couries in the field of child and family protection in the digital space.”

The head of the Iranian delegation added in this conference: “In rece years, Iran has taken importa steps in the field of protecting children and adolesces in the digital space, including drafting a docume for the protection of children and adolesces in the cyberspace, holding training courses to improve the media literacy of families and studes, strengthening the role of the cyberspace police, and developing information systems related to violations of regulations.” However, the rapid developme of technology and the complexity of digital threats require coinuous updating of regulations, strengthening of cooperation between institutions and active participation of the private sector and social organizations.
The doctor also said about the meioned conference in Baku: “The conference “Protecting children in the digital space: modern tools and iernational cooperation” held in Baku was organized at a high level. Represeatives of differe couries and regional and iernational organizations were prese in this conference and the latest scieific research and practical experiences of the couries were discussed. It is importa to hold such conferences to exchange experiences in the field of protecting children in the digital space, especially from a legal poi of view and to attract the atteion of policymakers. Such conferences can help to form regional and iernational cooperation platforms and double the effectiveness of measures taken at the national level.
