According to the Mehr news agency, citing Sputnik, the decision of the North Korean leader to increase the production of missiles and ammunition in 2026 has been taken according to the “future needs and growing demand of the country’s missile and artillery forces”.
According to the report of the Korean news agency, Kim Jong-un learned about the production of missiles and ammunition in the last quarter of 2025 during a field visit to the most important military and industrial centers. During this visit, he announced that “based on the forecasted needs, the 2026 production plan should be increased.”
The North Korean leader also emphasized that the country’s military industries have been able to successfully implement the 2025 production plan. He also signed the documents related to defense industry modernization plans; Plans to be presented at the 9th Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea.
In another part of its report, the Korean Central News Agency announced that Kim Jong-un closely supervised the “testing process of a new generation of anti-aircraft missiles.”
