Italian Prime Minister: Enjoy your vacation; Difficult days are coming – Mehr News agency RCO News Agency
According to RCO News Agency, quoted by Arabi 21, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, in a tone that was a combination of humor and serious warning, announced the growing concern in European political circles, and especially in Italy, regarding the great challenges of the continent in the coming year.
Declaring that next year will be “tougher and more complicated” than last year, Maloney joked to his office staff: “Last year was tough for all of us, but don’t worry…next year will be worse.”
The Italian Prime Minister added: So I advise you to rest well during this holiday.
Meloni has been ruling Italy for nearly three years in a very complicated domestic and regional situation. Meloni’s government has been facing ongoing economic stagnation, increasing challenges related to illegal immigration, as well as growing European concerns about the escalation of the war in Ukraine and the possibility of Europe being drawn into a wider confrontation with Russia.
Italy’s prime minister is preparing to hold a referendum on judicial reform, one of Italy’s most controversial cases.
Maloney also plans to introduce a constitutional amendment to the mechanism for electing the prime minister, which would see the prime minister elected directly by the people instead of by parliament.
