He quoted Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, who emphasized the unshakable nature of the alliance between Tehran and Baku at the opening ceremony of joint dams on the Araz River on May 19, 2024, and said: “The alliance and friendship between Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan is unshakable. No one can create a gap between us. “This friendship is a key factor in regional stability and strengthening future security.”
Stating that “the media, writers and political analysts play a decisive and strategic role in shaping the relations between the two countries“, he said: “At a time when false narratives are being created with the aim of creating artificial division between these two brotherly nations, the main task of the media is to maintain national awareness and clarify the strategic common ground that binds them together.”
The Iranian diplomat added: “Journalists in Tehran and Baku have a historical responsibility: protecting the legacy of this ancient friendship against foreign interference and protecting it against forces that are worried about the deepening of relations between the two nations.” Misinformation and divisive narratives must never be allowed to overshadow the common roots that unite them.
He emphasized that the media should act as a herald of peace, cooperation and brotherhood and remind people of the eternal power of unity by highlighting common interests and opportunities.
Demirchi Luo also wrote: Cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan has the potential to provide stability, increase regional security, and promote progress throughout the Caucasus. The stronger the economic and cultural ties between Baku and Tehran, the more the interests of both nations are protected and the way is closed for foreign actors who try to exploit the instability.
In the continuation of his note, he pointed out that commemorating the 34th anniversary of the recognition of the independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan by Iran is not just a historical milestone; Rather, it is an opportunity to re-emphasize the commitment to the ideals of good neighborliness.
The Iranian ambassador in Baku stated: The stronger the bond between the two countries, the wider the scope of peace, prosperity and security in the entire region.
