Putin: More countries are interested in relations with the Eurasian Union
The Russian President said that more and more countries are expressing their desire to establish relations with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
According to Isna, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Sunday evening during the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in St. Petersburg: “More countries and multilateral structures express their desire to establish relations with our association, and the circle of foreign trade partners of the Eurasian Economic Union continues to expand.”
According to the Sputnik News agency, the Russian president emphasized: “India has expressed its readiness to intensify the process of agreeing on a preferential agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union.”
“A preferential agreement is being developed with India, a country that pursues an independent policy and a reliable partner with a market of 1.5 billion people and a GDP of about $4 trillion,” Putin added.
Stating that the Eurasian Economic Union brings real benefits to each of its members, he said: “This union has established itself as a self-sufficient center in the emerging multipolar world, and decisions aimed at further deepening cooperation within the union will be discussed at this meeting.”
Vladimir Putin emphasized: “Cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union continues to develop steadily, and cooperation within the Union guarantees the economic stability of the five countries.”
He added: “The development of cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union will help ensure the economic resilience of the entire region, which is important in the face of global economic turmoil.”
Emphasizing that the Eurasian Economic Union has created a stable, independent and free payment system free from foreign pressure, the Russian president said: “A reliable and independent payment infrastructure free from foreign influence has been created within this union, and the share of national currencies in trade transactions between the union countries has reached 93%.” “Also, practically all mutual settlements are done in national currencies.”
