Peskov: Zelensky’s statements are contradictory
The Kremlin spokesman said that the president of Ukraine makes contradictory statements when commenting on the possible presidential elections in this country.
According to Isna, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Saturday evening: “Volodymyr Zelensky (President of Ukraine) constantly comments on the possible elections in Ukraine, but he contradicts himself to some extent.”
According to the Sputnik News agency, the Kremlin spokesman also stated: “Zelensky says that he will not allow anyone, the Russian President Vladimir Putin, to interfere in the elections.” At the same time, he had already asked the Americans for help. In other words, he is not against US interference, but against election interference.”
“Zelensky makes contradictory statements about this,” Peskov emphasized.
He added: “Discussions about the possibility of elections continue and this issue is still active.”
On Friday, Vladimir Putin said Russia was ready to review security guarantees during elections in Ukraine, including refraining from operations.
Volodymyr Zelensky’s presidential term ended on May 20, 2024, but new elections were canceled under the pretext of “martial rule” and “public mobilization”.
In February, US President Donald Trump called Zelensky a “dictator without elections” and claimed his approval rating had dropped to 4 percent.
