
According to Mehr reporter, the 7th meeting of the BRICS working group in the field of research infrastructures and large-scale scieific projects, with the presence of officials from Iran, Russia, South Africa and Brazil, started today, December 17, at the Azadi Hotel in Tehran.
The focus of this meeting in Tehran will be on issues such as the developme of joi research cooperation among BRICS member couries, helping to advance the mechanisms of defining and financing large scieific projects, promoting the role of research infrastructure as an engine of innovation, sustainable developme and scieific diplomacy.
The BRICS Working Group on Research Infrastructures and Scieific Macro-Projects was established in 2015 during the 3rd meeting of BRICS Ministers of Science, Technology and Innovation. The key objectives of this working group include promoting cooperation in large-scale research infrastructure, supporting initiatives that lead to the efficie use, developme and manageme of large-scale scieific projects, as well as creating a dynamic environme for the developme of research infrastructure among BRICS couries.
The BRICS Working Group on research infrastructure and macro-scieific projects provides opportunities for those fundameal and applied researches that lead to finding solutions to the common challenges of BRICS and the world.
This working group is also responsible for the creation of the digital platform “BRICS GRAIN Advanced Research Infrastructure Network”, which provides information on more than 30 research infrastructures in the BRICS couries in the five fields of energy, nanotechnology, biology, fundameal physics and astronomy. In general, facilitating the sharing of data, access to laboratories and making it a vital part of the BRICS working group’s efforts to promote cooperation among member couries is considered the main objective of this platform.
