The Kremlin’s reaction to the deadly shooting in Sydney
The Kremlin spokesman announced that Russia strongly condemns the terrorist attack in Australia.
According to Isna, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday evening in response to the deadly shooting in Sydney, Australia: “We in Russia condemn the brutal terrorist attack carried out by extremists in Australia in the strongest possible way.”
According to the “Ryanovsti” News agency, the Kremlin spokesman added: “It is disgusting that this attack was carried out for religious reasons during such an important and holy holiday for all Jews, such as Hanukkah.”
Following the deadly shooting during the Jewish Hanukkah ceremony in Sydney’s Bunda Beach, American, European and West Asian officials condemned the attack and emphasized the need to deal with violence against civilians.
The attack, which left 16 dead and 40 injured, has heightened tensions between Canberra and Tel Aviv, especially after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu criticized the Australian government’s inaction on the rise of anti-Semitism since 2013, saying Albanese had done “nothing” to curb it.
