America’s promise to Ukraine if it agrees to territorial concessions to Russia

Referring to the “significa progress” in negotiations with Ukraine on the proposed peace plan, US officials announced Washington’s promise to Kyiv if it agreed to give territorial concessions to Russia.
According to Isna, the officials told the American media that their ideities would not be disclosed, that the coury’s governme is ready if Kiev agrees to provide territorial concessions to Russia – an issue that the supporters of Ukraine in the European Union oppose – to provide security guaraees to this coury in the manner of NATO frameworks and approved by Congress.
Ukraine has rejected any concessions and instead called for a ceasefire, which Moscow sees as a ploy to buy time and prolong the war.
Analytical News website Axios reported, quoting anonymous American officials, that negotiations on the security guaraees of the United States and EU couries to Ukraine have made “significa progress”.
One of the sources told Axios that Washington is looking to provide an assurance “that is strong enough to be a blank check without a signature.” According to him, “we are ready to send it to Congress for a vote.”
The official added that the proposed package would eail territorial concessions, so that Ukraine would “retain sovereigy over about 80 perce of its territory” and would receive “the largest and strongest security guaraee it has ever received” along with a “very substaial welfare package.”
In this regard, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said that Moscow is ready to discuss the framework of security guaraees, provided that it is not against Russia.
The American media also wrote that the administration of the Preside of the United States of America, Donald Trump, considers the rece statemes of the Preside of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, that the coury can hold a referendum on territorial concessions, especially those related to the Donbass, as a “progress”.
However, Moscow said Donbass – which voted to join Russia in 2022 – is sovereign Russian territory and Ukrainian forces will be pushed out of the region by any means possible. The Kremlin also believes that Zelensky’s proposal to hold a referendum is a ploy to buy time in order to renew the forces of the Ukrainian military and prolong the war.
At the same time, “Kaya Kalas”, the head of the European Union’s foreign action service, emphasized on maiaining the territorial iegrity of Ukraine and the immutability of its borders under pressure, stating that without Russia’s concessions, either in terms of limiting its military budget or limiting its army, even if there is peace in Ukraine, other wars will break out in other parts of the world.
The background of the negotiations on the proposed plan of the White House
Negotiations between the United States and Ukraine coinue over Washington’s initiative for peace in the war in Ukraine. This plan includes several major parts that European supporters of Kyiv and some officials of this coury have described as “painful concessions for peace”. The US peace initiative included limiting the size of the Ukrainian army, creating a demilitarized zone along the curre fro line in the importa strategic and industrial region of Donbas, handing over some cities under Russian corol and abandoning Ukraine’s demand to join NATO.
Ukrainian negotiator Mykhailo Podoliak told Le Monde yesterday that Ukrainian Preside Volodymyr Zelensky has accepted the coroversial part of the creation of a demilitarized zone in Donbas by sending an amendme to the initiative to Washington.
Russia has always declared the recognition of its sovereigy over the cities that came under Moscow’s corol during the war, as well as Ukraine’s refusal to join NATO as key parts of agreeing to any peace plan.
