Kremlin to Zelensky: “Donbass is the territory of Russia!”
Yury Ushakov, the assistant of the Russian president, strongly rejected Volodymyr Zelensky’s proposal to hold a regional referendum at this point, emphasizing that “the whole of Donbass is part of Russia!”
According to RCO News Agency, Ushakov, in response to the question of Life TV reporter, emphasized that this situation is included in the Russian constitution.
In another context, Ushakov noted that Zelensky’s current goal during his European trip is to introduce reforms that are unacceptable to Russia and will be implemented in documents prepared by the United States on a political settlement in Ukraine.
He explained that Washington is currently working with the Ukrainian side and several leading European countries to draft these documents, adding: “We have not yet seen the revised versions that include the views of the Europeans and Ukrainians, but these reforms are unlikely to be positive.”
Previously, Ukrainian negotiator Mykhailo Podoliak, in an interview referring to the details of the amendment presented by the president of the country to the US peace plan, announced that he accepted the “painful privilege” of creating a civilian logic in the strategic Donbass region to end the war.
