Akbariye Mosque is one of the historical buildings and one of the tourist attractions of Lahijan, which is located in the southwest of the city. This building can be called one of the valuable and important heritages of the country, as a marble inscription mentions the date of its construction in 1239 AH, that is, during the reign of Fath Ali Shah Qajar. This building was built by “Haj Ali Akbar Lahijani”. The architecture and decorations done in the Akbariye Mosque are really beautiful and artistic. It is interesting to know that the Akbariyeh Mosque remained half-finished during its construction for some reasons and today it consists of two parts of the new mosque, which is nearly a century old, and the old mosque, which are connected to each other by a large door. Some architectural experts consider this mosque to be similar to Hagia Sophia in Türkiye.

Another sight to see in Lahijan is the tomb of “Mohammed Mirza Qajar Qwanlu”, the eldest son of “Asadullah Mirza Naib-ul-Sultaneh”, an educated and high-ranking nobleman of the country during the Qajar era, which was built on the tea hills in Lahijan according to his will, and today it has become a “Tea History Museum”.

The late Kashif Al-Sultaneh is known as a “tea grower” and was the first person to popularize tea cultivation in Iran. For this reason, he is called “the father of Iranian tea”. He brought tea and its cultivation tools from India to Iran and Lahijan.

The tomb of Mohammad Mirza Qajar Gwanlu was built in 1355 AD in the style of western architecture and with the efforts of the National Antiquities Association, with a view of gray-colored ashlar stone and an area of ​​512 square meters. In 1371, after handing over the tomb to the Cultural Heritage Organization, the Iranian Tea History Museum was built next to the tomb. This museum includes a two-story main hall, a tower, and two office spaces, north and south. On the ground floor of the collection hall, there are documents and documents of the late Kashif Al-Sultaneh and tea and tea-drinking items. The second floor of the building is dedicated to showcases and anthropological items.

One of the most beautiful places to see in Lahijan is located on the slopes of Shaitan Mountain in the eastern part of Lahijan and is known as Lahijan Pool. This beautiful attraction is built on a land of 17 hectares with a depth of nearly four meters. In the past, Lahijan pool was used as a water reservoir for irrigating rice fields.

In the west of Lahijan city and in a neighborhood called Perdah Sar, there is a historical structure that dates back to the reign of the Kiaians and is known as Lahijan Clay Bridge. “Mirzahiruddin Marashi” mentioned this bridge in his book. The Lahijan clay bridge has a length of 50 meters, a width of 4 meters and 50 centimeters and a height of about 11 meters, and it is built with red lime and saroj bricks.

An artificial waterfall has been built in a corner of Satan Mountain Lahijan, whose water is supplied from the Lahijan pool. Shaitan Kouh waterfall flows down from the height of the mountain and creates a very spectacular sight. The mausoleum of Sheikh Zahid Gilani is another sight-seeing place in Lahijan, which was built in the village of Shikhanbar or “Sheikhanevar” on the way from Lahijan to Langrud, at the foot of the mountain. “Sheikh Tajuddin Ibrahim”, known as “Sheikh Zahid Gilani” is one of the famous mystics and dervishes and one of the teachers of “Sheikh Safiuddin Ardabili” who passed away in 711 AH and in 892 AH, his tomb was built in this area by the order of “Sultan Haider Safavi”.

It seems that the king ordered the construction of this tomb after having a dream. The mausoleum of Sheikh Zahid Gilani is made of two square and rectangular rooms that are adjacent to each other. The most beautiful part of the mausoleum is the pyramid-shaped dome, which is built with eight cracks and a steep slope, and the surface of the tomb is decorated with yellow, blue, white, and black tiling and traditional and floral motifs. Also, around the dome and other parts of the mausoleum building are covered with clay.
