The NATO member declares America as a security threat
Citing an assessment by the country’s defense intelligence agency, the Danish publication reported that Copenhagen has introduced America as a negative source in the perspective of threats to Denmark’s security for the first time.
According to RCO News Agency, according to the new threat assessment report conducted by the Danish Defense Intelligence Service, America will be included in the list of threats against this country for the first time.
According to Berlinske, this defense information report will be officially published on Wednesday (today).
Berlinske newspaper reported: The United States of America is listed for the first time as a negative source in the threat landscape against Denmark.
The document states that the United States is now using its economic and technological power as a tool to exert influence, including against allies and partners.
According to Danish media reports, in addition to America, Russia and China are also mentioned as threats to Denmark’s security.
At the same time, this publication quoted Tokas Arnikal, the head of the Danish military intelligence service, who wrote that “Copenhagen still considers Washington the strongest ally and guarantor of European security.”
Donald Trump, the president of the United States, has repeatedly announced that Greenland – a territory under the national sovereignty and ownership of Denmark – should become part of the United States. He emphasized its strategic importance for national security and defense of what the world called the “free world”, including against China and Russia. The former prime minister of Greenland, Mote Egde, replied that this island is not for sale and never will be. However, Trump refused to pledge not to use military force to take control of Greenland.
Greenland was a Danish colony until 1953. The land is still part of the Kingdom of Denmark, but in 2009 it gained autonomy, which allows it to govern itself and make independent choices in its internal politics.
