Threats and sharp reaction of the Trump administration officials to the new EU digital laws
At the same time as the European Union imposed a 120 million euro fine on social platform X (Twitter) for violating the new digital rules of the European Union, “Marco Rubio” threatened the European Union and said: “This fine is not only an attack on this media, but an attack on all American technology platforms.”
According to RCO News Agency, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio wrote on X: “This is an attack on the American people and all American media platforms by foreign governments.”
According to Rashatudi News channel, this official of the US Foreign Ministry also wrote that the days of online censorship of Americans are over.
In the meantime, “Elon Musk”, the American billionaire and the owner of this social platform, also called for the dissolution of the European Union after imposing this fine.
He argued in a series of tweets: “The bureaucracy of the European Union is slowly dragging Europe to death. “The European Union must be dissolved and sovereignty returned to independent countries so that governments can better represent their people.”
He called this block a “bureaucratic monster”.
Musk has previously described the EU as a “giant cathedral of bureaucracy” and argued that excessive regulation stifles innovation.
“J.D. Vance”, the vice president of Donald Trump, also said that the European Union has targeted the X channel because it is not involved in censorship.
The American ambassador in Brussels also condemned the action of the European Union and said that Washington is against censorship and will challenge the interference regulations that target American companies abroad.
But one of the officials of the European Commission for Democracy, Security and Technological Governance while defending this action of Brussels said: “Blue tick fraudsters, hiding information in advertisements and preventing access to researchers have no place in the online space of the European Union.”
Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski also wrote to Musk’s series of tweets criticizing the fine of 120 million euros: “Go to Mars, there is no censorship for the Nazi salute.”
He also said in response to the support of Musk’s messages by Dmitry Medvedev, the vice chairman of the Russian Security Council: “These exchanges are dangerous and reckless.”
The Polish Foreign Minister also warned that such narratives that undermine the European Union and serve the hostile interests of Europe.
