Putin’s aide: Negotiations with the US on Ukraine peace are progressing
Russian President Vladimir Putin’s assistant Yuri Ushakov announced on Friday that Moscow and Washington are making progress in resolving the Ukraine crisis.
According to Isna, in an interview with “Zvezda” TV channel, Ushakov said that Russia is ready to continue working with American negotiators to find a solution in Ukraine.
He added: “We are making progress. This gives us hope and we are ready to continue working with this American team.”
According to Ushakov, the date of the next interaction, including a possible phone call between the presidents of the two countries, has not yet been determined.
He explained: “You see, all this can be easily arranged. Remember how the Anchorage meeting was coordinated in just three days and everything was agreed upon. “When the necessary prerequisites for the communication between the presidents – whether by phone or in person – are provided, everything will be done quickly.”
In response to a question about the possible position of Europe, Putin’s aide said that the Europeans constantly put forward demands that are unacceptable to Moscow and do not help to advance the process of resolving the Ukraine crisis.
