The death of Trump’s presidency; “American youth do not see a future for themselves”
Citing the unprecedented drop in Donald Trump’s popularity and the successive scandals in his cabinet, the strategist of the Democratic Party believes that the power of the American president is “diminishing moment by moment” and his effective period is “virtually over”.
According to Isna, “James Carville”, the strategist of the Democratic Party, stated that the presidency of “Donald Trump” is coming to an end and his power is “waning minute by minute”. He added: “You can feel that this power is being lost.”
According to a new Gallup poll released last Friday, Trump’s approval rating has fallen to 36 percent, the lowest figure recorded in his second term.
In an interview with The Daily Beast podcast, Carville said that “public opinion has turned heavily against him” and that people are holding the 79-year-old president responsible for their economic woes. He emphasized that successive scandals among cabinet members have created an atmosphere of “disorder” around the Trump administration.
“I don’t think it’s going to get any better for them, I really don’t,” said the strategist, who played a key role in Bill Clinton’s 1992 campaign. He noted that the dramatic increase in health insurance premiums for more than 20 million people next year is a direct result of Trump and Republicans’ opposition to extending the Affordable Care Act subsidies.
Referring to Trump’s “catastrophic statistics,” Carville added, “I don’t know how much lower it’s going to go. “I think his effective presidency is over, in terms of taking any significant action.”
He predicted that Democrats will take advantage of Trump’s mistakes in the 2026 midterm elections and turn him into a “paralyzed president”: “He will definitely face a Democratic-controlled House and, most likely, a Democratic-controlled Senate.”
Carville described the Nov. 4 election results in various states as “amazing,” saying, “These results are astounding in both depth and breadth.”
In an op-ed in the New York Times last week, he wrote that the Democratic Party should focus on “pure economic anger” to respond to people’s “economic pain.” “Now at 81 years old, I understand very well that the Democratic Party must come up with its most popular economic plan since the Great Depression,” Carville wrote in the memo.
Meanwhile, Trump has failed to deliver on his campaign promises to “eliminate inflation” and “affordable living costs.” The labor market has weakened and his fluctuating tariff policy has also harmed farmers and led to market instability.
At the same time, he has spent most of his time decorating the White House with gold and building a hall worth 300 million dollars, which he claims will be built with the help of his billionaire friends.
Carville wrote in the same note in the New York Times: “The French Revolution is taking place in the American atmosphere.” Explaining this sentence, he said that economic inequality in America has reached a dangerous level and Trump’s closeness with the rich class has deepened the gap between the young generation and the rich.
Carville added: “Young people do not see a future for themselves. They can’t imagine one day buying a house or paying for schooling, when the elderly and the rich own everything. “This is where the unrest begins and the best way is to preemptively balance it.”
