Trump’s White House meeting focused on Venezuela
The American media reported that the President of the United States will hold a meeting in the White House focusing on Venezuela and the subsequent actions against this country.
According to Isna, tensions between Washington and Caracas have intensified in recent months, and the United States has carried out numerous military and security operations in the Caribbean and around Venezuela.
“CNN” News television reported on Monday evening, citing informed sources: “US President Donald Trump will hold a meeting on the next steps regarding Venezuela on Monday evening (Washington time) at the White House.”
Key members of Trump’s cabinet and national security team, including Secretary of War Pete Hegst, Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Kaine, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, as well as White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles and Deputy Chief of Staff Steven Miller, are expected to attend the meeting.
The meeting will be held at 5:00 pm EST in the Oval Office of the White House, as the United States has increased pressure on Venezuela by attacking “drug-trafficking” ships in the Caribbean.
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has repeatedly indicated that the increase in US military presence in the region is aimed at his “overthrow” and has denied the US accusation of “connections with drug traffickers and criminal groups”.
