According to RCO News Agency, quoted by Sputnik, the spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry reacted to the statemes of a NATO official about possible preemptive attacks against Russia.
Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, said: “The rece statemes of the NATO official about preemptive attacks are a very irresponsible step and indicate the alliance’s readiness to coinue moving towards the escalation of tensions.”
In a stateme published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Zakharova said: “Brussels likes to repeat the slogan of the purely “defensive” nature of this alliance. What Cafo Drago (Nato Military Committee Chairman Giuseppe Cafo Drago) said about “preemptive strikes” shows the falsehood of repeated claims in Brussels about the “purely defensive” nature of the alliance.
He added: These statemes are a deliberate attempt to weaken the efforts to solve the crisis in Ukraine. We consider these statemes to be a deliberate attempt to destroy efforts to resolve the Ukrainian crisis. Its true ieions have been revealed for a long time.
Zakharova stressed: Statemes about NATO’s preemptive attacks against Russia are an irresponsible step and show that NATO is ready for more tension. We consider Giuseppe Cafo Drago’s statemes about possible preemptive attacks against Russia to be an irresponsible step, and those who make these statemes should be aware of the risks and possible consequences.
