The Preside of Venezuela said that the US governme iends to seize Venezuela’s huge oil reserves through lethal military force against the coury’s soil, people and institutions.
According to Isna, Venezuelan Preside Nicolas Maduro wrote in a letter addressed to the Secretary General of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting couries (OPEC) on Sunday evening: “I am writing this letter to address the increasing and illegal threats of the United States of America against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.”
Maduro coinued this letter: “As you have surely seen, since the middle of August this year, the Preside of the United States of America, Donald Trump, has launched a campaign of harassme and threats against Venezuela, which clearly endangers national and iernational peace, security and stability.” As part of this campaign, various US military assets have been deployed to the Caribbean region, including more than 14 warships and 15,000 personnel. In addition, US authorities have conducted more than 20 airstrikes against small groups.”
Regarding the hostile actions and military movemes of the US Preside, the Venezuelan Preside said: “Similarly, during these mohs, there have been repeated and coinuous threats of the use of force against the Venezuelan territory by the United States authorities, which clearly violate the United Nations Charter and other iernational law instrumes.”
He stated: “Venezuela officially declares against OPEC and the OPEC+ mechanism that the United States governme iends to seize Venezuela’s huge oil reserves, the largest oil reserves on the planet, through the use of lethal military force against the coury’s soil, people and institutions.”
Nicolás Maduro emphasized: “This ieion is not only corary to the provisions governing peaceful coexistence between nations, but also seriously endangers the stability of Venezuela’s oil production and the iernational market.” The world is well aware of the destructive consequences of military ierveions by the United States of America and its allies in other oil-producing couries. “Venezuela will remain steadfast in defending its energy resources and will not give in to any kind of pressure.”
At the end of this letter, he noted: “Members of OPEC and OPEC+, I hope to cou on your efforts to help stop this aggression that is becoming stronger day by day and seriously threatens the balance of the iernational energy market, both for producing and consuming couries. “Finally, I respectfully request that a copy of this letter be distributed among the member couries of our organization and the OPEC+ mechanism, and that you demand unity of sovereigy without foreign ierference.”
On Saturday, Donald Trump asked all airlines, pilots, as well as drug and human traffickers to “consider the airspace over Venezuela and its surrounding areas closed.”
