According to Mehr news agency, the Hill website affiliated with the US Congress wrote in a report: State legislators have expressed concern about the increase in threats and political violence against them.

According to this report, recely in Indiana, several Republican represeatives who did not support the plan to redraw the boundaries between the states, complained about the disturbance in their homes.

Political violence and iimidation of state legislatures has increased as local issues have been nationalized and partisan radicalism fueled, Hill wrote. Some Democratic and Republican represeatives in the states of Utah, Oregon and Illinois have also reported being exposed to threats.

According to the report, the harsh tone of the leaders, especially the coroversial statemes of Donald Trump, has iensified the “political violence”. This situation has also negatively affected the recruitme of candidates for local political activities and has forced lawmakers to increase personal security measures.

Some states, such as Michigan, have passed new security laws to protect lawmakers’ personal information, Hill wrote.
