Re-examination of green cards of citizens of 19 couries by order of Trump
The Trump administration is set to launch a sweeping immigration security review that could affect tens of thousands of legal resides and order a review of every green card issued to immigras from 19 “couries of concern.”

The combined measures would effectively put two of the largest legal immigration pathways of the past decade under retroactive federal review: asylum and humanitarian resettleme for Afghans.
After Wednesday’s attack, Trump released a video message calling for a new investigation io every Afghan refugee admitted to the United States during the evacuation following the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan.
Trump also attacked Somali refugees in Minnesota, saying they were “tearing apart that once great state” as part of his broader pledge to deport people in the coury illegally and suspend admissions of most refugees.

The announceme of the green card review comes within hours of an act of violence in Washington, where two members of the West Virginia National Guard were attacked.
Authorities have ideified the accused gunman as Rahmanullah Lakhwal, an Afghan national who eered the United States in 2021 during a mass evacuation following the collapse of the US-backed Afghan governme.
