Trump’s advice to the Prime Minister of Japan: Do not provoke China – Mehr News Agency | RCO News Agency

According to RCO News Agency, citing the American newspaper Wall Street Journal, US Preside Donald Trump advised Japanese Prime Minister Sanai Takaichi not to provoke China regarding the sovereigy of Taiwan, following the diplomatic dispute between Tokyo and Beijing over the issue of Taiwan.
The dispute between China and Japan as Asia’s two largest economies began after Takaichi’s remarks. He said that Tokyo can iervene militarily in any attack on an island that China claims sovereigy over and considers it a part of its territory.
In a phone call with Trump on Monday, Chinese Preside Xi Jinping stressed that the return of Taiwan to China is an iegral part of the post-war iernational order, according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
The Wall Street Journal, citing Japanese officials and a US official with knowledge of the call, reported that after Premier Chi’s call, Trump called Takaichi and advised him not to provoke Beijing on the issue of sovereigy over Taiwan.
