The image of Damavand peak is tied with its magnifice white hat; A symbol of stability, cold and source of life. The autumn of 1404 is approaching its final days, while there is still no news of that eternal white dress.

The images recorded by “Mina Kamran” on the 5th of December prese a bitter and disturbing truth in fro of us. Damavand, this proud gia, is almost free of snow. The scattered rains of the past weeks have been so insignifica that only a thin layer of snow has been deposited on Damavand peak.

High mouains such as Damavand and Alborz are actually the natural reservoirs of our coury. The snow that sits on this peak in autumn and wier gradually melts in spring and summer and feeds the vital arteries of rivers, springs and underground water tables. When this reservoir is empty in the fall, a serious alarm will sound for the next summer; An alarm for agriculture, drinking water and the eire ecosystem depende on these water sources.
