The most important feature of Huka’s new product is the incorporation of Recco reflectors in the shoe structure. This technology, which was first designed by the Swedish company “Recco AB” to save avalanche victims, is now used in search and rescue operations in all seasons.

The RECO system allows rescue teams to search an area of one square kilometer in just 6 minutes using helicopters and radar detectors. These reflectors work passively without the need for batteries and reflect radar signals.
Technical specifications of Mafat X Hike
Although Reko is not a replacement for advanced satellite communication systems, it serves as an additional, inexpensive layer of safety that is always with the climber. Currently, more than 900 ski centers and rescue organizations in 32 countries are using this technology.

Technically, the new Huka product is a combination of a trail running shoe and a lightweight hiking boot. In making this model, the manufacturer has used carbon fiber plate for better energy transfer and double foam for more softness. The Vibram Megagrip sole also provides high grip on slippery and uneven surfaces. Also, the quick lacing system provides good ankle support without adding the heavy weight of traditional boots.
Maffat X Hike is available at a price of $250 and in a very bright and stunning color. The use of phosphorescent colors in this model acts as a visual aid for the visibility of climbers at long distances.
