China’s reaction to Japan’s decision to deploy missiles on Taiwan’s border – Mehr News Agency | RCO News Agency
According to Mehr news agency, quoted by Reuters, “Peng Qinggen”, the spokesperson of the Taiwan Affairs Office in the Chinese State Council, announced in a press conference: “We have a firm will and a high ability to defend our national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and we will respond decisively to any foreign interference.”
China has proposed a “one country, two systems” model for Taiwan’s annexation, but none of Taiwan’s main political parties accept this plan.
In recent weeks, tensions between Beijing and Tokyo have escalated, and the reason for this is the statements of Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi regarding any military action by China against the island of Taiwan.
The Japanese Prime Minister threatened China and said that an attack on Taiwan would endanger Japan’s existence and might lead to Tokyo’s military intervention.
China demanded that the Japanese Prime Minister withdraw from these statements and asked its citizens to refrain from traveling to Japan. This decision of China has led to the widespread cancellation of the trip of its citizens to this Asian country and can cause a huge economic loss to Japan.
