All museums and historical cultural places under the management of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts in Tehran were closed on Wednesday and Thursday (December 5 and 6, 1404).
According to the announcement of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, simultaneously with the issuance of the notification of the Tehran Governorate about the closure of cultural and tourism centers due to the worsening of air pollution, the museums and historical places of the capital, which are managed under the supervision of this ministry, will not receive visitors on Wednesday and Thursday (December 5th and 6th, 1404).
According to this decision, the National Museum of Iran, Reza Abbasi Museum, Museum of Water and Ceramics of Iran, Museum of Iranian Carpets, Museum of National Arts, Museum of Glass Painting, Saadabad Cultural-Historical Complex, Niavaran Cultural-Historical Complex and Golestan Palace World Heritage Collection are closed on the mentioned dates.
Tehran Governorate has announced that this measure was adopted with the aim of reducing unnecessary traffic, preventing the occurrence of respiratory hazards and providing more stable conditions to manage the air pollution crisis.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts emphasizes that in similar conditions, be it extreme cold, air pollution or other emergency decisions, all provincial museums, historical buildings and sites, as well as national and international bases will operate in accordance with provincial approvals.
