Hormoz Island is one of the most unique natural destinations in Iran; A small island in the Persian Gulf known for its geological diversity, unique colors and different landscapes. The most important attraction of this island is its soil and geological structures. “Rainbow Valley” with a wide range of colored sedimentary layers, “Sahel Red” with special reddish soil, and “Valley of Sculptures” with natural rock formations provide a clear picture of the geological history of the region.
The salt cave of Hormuz, which is also known as the “goddess of salt”, is another prominent point of the island. The salt crystals, walls and ceiling of this cave have turned it into a spectacular environment that attracts many tourists every year. In another part of the coast of Hormuz, mangrove forests during the tides create a different landscape of vegetation adapted to salty environments.
The coastal views of Hormuz also form an important part of its popularity. “Sunset Abyss” with a wide view of the Persian Gulf and quiet coastal paths, is one of the best places to watch the daily scenery and the sunset. (Legacy of Arya)
