Mamdani: Israel is committing genocide / Trump: Zelensky must agree to the peace plan
The elected mayor of New York emphasized once again that the Zionist regime committed genocide in Gaza. The American president also said that his Ukrainian counterpart has to accept the peace plan.
According to RCO News Agency, US President Donald Trump hosted Zahran Mamdani in the White House on Saturday morning and praised her in a 180-degree turn from his previous positions.
“I think you’re going to have a really great mayor,” Trump said of meeting Mamdani. The better he does, the happier I will be. We are going to help him make everyone’s dream come true; To have a strong and very safe New York.
The American president added: “We may have differences in methods, but we share a common goal.”
He said he wanted to “help, not hurt” the mayor-elect.
Trump called Mamdani a “very rational person” who “desperately wants to restore the greatness of New York.”
In response to some accusations, Trump said that Mamdani is “not a jihadi” and has the opportunity to “do a great thing for New York” and that the federal government will help him in this direction.
The US president said he “enjoyed” meeting Mamdani and warned his allies that he would “surprise some conservatives”.
In response to the question, “Does he feel comfortable living in Mamdani’s New York?” He answered in the affirmative.
Trump announced that in his conversation with Mamdani, there was no discussion about the possibility of arresting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he traveled to New York.
He claimed that the United States is making “every effort to completely disarm Hamas” and also called Hezbollah “a problem in Lebanon.”
Trump claimed that Washington will work to “strengthen peace in the Middle East”.
In another part of his remarks, Trump addressed the war in Ukraine and said: “There is an opportunity for peace in Ukraine, and President Zelensky must agree to the American plan or he must continue the war.”
Trump recalled that he had told Zelensky earlier in the Oval Office: “You don’t have a trump card.”
He said that he talked with Ukrainian officials and “this war basically should not have started”.
Trump emphasized that there is a plan to end the war that requires Zelensky’s green light and aims to “save the lives of many Ukrainians and Russians.”
Mamdani also said in this meeting: “I am eager to work together with the president.”
He introduced himself as a “socialist democrat” and said that he has always been clear about this.
Mamdani emphasized that he had a conversation with Trump about the “impact of federal immigration policies on New York” and called for coordination of policies at all levels.
Mamdani also said in the presence of Trump: “I have spoken about Israel committing genocide and its financing by our own government, and I have also raised the concern of New Yorkers who want their taxes to be spent on the interests of New Yorkers themselves.”
