According to RCO News Agency, On Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin visited one of the command posts of the Zapad combat group of the country’s army and said: “Ukraine military personnel should have the opportunity to lay down their weapons and surrender.”
According to the Sputnik News agency, the Russian president emphasized: “It is clear to everyone that the leaders of Ukraine are unlikely to think about the fate of ordinary people and soldiers.”
He further pointed out: “The objectives of special military operations must be realized.”
While calling the Ukrainian authorities “an organized criminal group” who have usurped power, Putin said: “Ukraine’s political leadership is not leadership, and Ukraine’s political leadership grabs power for wealth.”
He added: “Approximately 15 enemy battalions are surrounded in Kopyansk and its surrounding areas, and clashes are taking place in the village of Kostyantinyuka.”
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also quoted the Russian president as saying: “Russian President Putin noted that all the tasks set in the previous meeting with the military have been completed, and he held a meeting with the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, the head of the Main Operations Department and the commanders of the Zapad and Yug combat groups.”
He added: “President Putin listened to detailed reports about the situation in Konstantinovka and the Kramatorsk route, as well as around Kopiansk, and asked the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces to report on the situation in the area under the responsibility of Combat Group Center.”
