Russia’s warning about the coradiction of the American resolution with the establishme of an independe Palestinian state – Mehr News agency RCO News Agency
According to Mehr news agency, citing Tass, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that the resolution proposed by the United States on the Gaza Strip, which was recely approved by the UN Security Council, is against iernational decisions regarding the establishme of the Palestinian state.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia stated: “Resolution 2803 not only does not have the authority of the Security Council to maiain peace and security, but also coradicts the real principles of peacemaking and iernational legal decisions regarding the establishme of an independe and unified Palestinian state within the borders of 1967.”
The ministry also criticized the US’s pressure to approve this resolution without examining the fundameal reforms of other couries and added: Even the publication of Russia’s draft to resolve disputes in the Security Council did not help to improve the situation.
The US resolution foresees the creation of a “peace commission” that will be in charge of the administration of Gaza and will be led by the US preside. According to this plan, iernational forces will be deployed in the region to disarm the Palestinian resistance. This resolution deprives the Palestinian people of their will to govern their own coury and does not oblige Tel Aviv to refrain from annexing Palestinian territories.
Russia and China abstained from the US resolution on Gaza and did not see this resolution as a basis for peace in the region.
