golden toilet scandal; Zelensky is facing his most serious crisis
Ukraine’s president is facing the deepest crisis of his presidency following a corruption investigation targeting members of his inner circle, a former government official said.
According to Isna, these statements were made while Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in one of the biggest corruption scandals, is facing the scrutiny of agencies today (Monday) regarding the aides who are said to have been connected with a conspiracy to withdraw about 100 million dollars from the Ukrainian energy sector during the war with Russia.
A former Ukrainian government official told Fox News Digital on condition of anonymity: “Ukrainians have no incentive to fight because of the massive human rights abuses and also because of the corruption that has now been exposed.”
He clarified: “People inside the country are now seeing this corruption and this is only part of the swamp of corruption. “Zelensky is part of the problem.”
Since the start of the Russia-Ukraine war in February 2022, Kiev’s financial system has come under scrutiny, with some Ukrainians now accused of taking bribes from projects meant to protect energy plants during the war, sparking public anger and undermining trust in the government.
The former Ukrainian official added: “It seems that this money laundering has been going on since 2022 and many people have tried to stop it.”
According to Fox News, some say Zelensky was aware of these plans and approved them. There is also suspicion that the money was deposited into accounts abroad that benefited Zelensky and his close circle.
Over the course of 15 months, a massive investigation called “Operation Midas” by Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) uncovered these schemes. One of the major Energoatom investigations, which targeted Ukraine’s state-owned nuclear power company and its energy contracts, names a businessman named Timur Mindych.
Mindich was the owner of the entertainment company Quarter 95 together with President Zelensky, and according to the Kyiv Independent newspaper, it is said that Mindich was the head of this network.
The Financial Times also reported that investigators found bags of cash and a gold-plated toilet in one of the bathrooms of his apartment.
Meanwhile, top Ukrainian officials in the Zelenskyi government resigned amid a $100 million corruption scandal.
“They were introduced years ago and run a 95-quarter business that includes film production and many other genres of entertainment,” the former official claimed.
People say that “Taimur had an apartment with golden toilets located in the same building as Zelensky, and in 2021, Zelensky celebrated his birthday in Taimur’s apartment.”
Another figure under investigation is Oleksii Chernyshov, the former deputy prime minister.
This former official claimed: “He held positions in Zelensky’s government since 2019 and has been accused of abusing his position.”
According to Fox News, during his career, Chernyshov started building big houses, three or four huge houses in the most luxurious area of their residence in Kiev.
