Grossi’s very close and importa consultations with the manager of Rosatom
The director general of the Iernational Atomic Energy Agency said today – Friday: The consultations between Rosatom and the Iernational Atomic Energy Agency in Kaliningrad were very close and importa issues were discussed.
According to Isna, “Rafael Grossi”, the director general of the Iernational Atomic Energy Agency, emphasized the importance of Russia’s role in the field of nuclear energy in the world arena, including the construction of nuclear power plas in Egypt, Bangladesh and Turkey.
According to Sputnik, after consultations with Rosatom, he drew atteion to the serious danger posed by the rece blackout at the Zaporizhia nuclear power pla due to damage to high-voltage lines.
He also emphasized the importance of preveing the spread of nuclear weapons and expressed hope that the leaders of the world’s nuclear powers will lead to stability in this field.
“For Russia, there is no doubt that Rosatom is a leader not only domestically, but also iernationally, building nuclear facilities in many areas of the world where they were not prese before,” Grossi told reporters. The most importa of these projects is the Al-Dabaa nuclear power pla in Egypt, which will be the second power pla in Africa and the Middle East to achieve nuclear technology and nuclear power generation capabilities. It simply underscores the necessity of our joi efforts to promote understanding of the role of nuclear power generation and develop appropriate solutions for the benefit of humanity.”
Al-Dabaa nuclear power pla is the first nuclear power pla in Egypt. This power pla is under construction in the city of Al-Daba in Matrouh province on the Mediterranean coast, about 300 kilometers northwest of Cairo.
In November 2015, Russia and Egypt signed an agreeme on joi cooperation to establish a nuclear power pla in the Al-Daba area on the Mediterranean coast in northern Egypt.
The coracts of this power pla came io force in December 2017, during the official visit of Russian Preside Vladimir Putin to Cairo. Al-Dabah power pla consists of four generation 3+ pressurized water reactors with a total capacity of 4,800 MW, each with 1,200 MW, and the first reactor is scheduled to be commissioned in 2028.
“Alexei Likhachev”, the director general of the state-owned company Rosatom, also announced that Raphael Grossi will participate in the installation ceremony of the reactor body in Unit 1 of Al-Dabaa nuclear power pla in Egypt next week.
“We talked with (Rafael Grossi) about our cooperation at other Rosatom sites abroad, and primarily, of course, about the upcoming eve at the Dabaa nuclear power pla in Egypt,” Likhachev told reporters after consultations between the Russian delegations and the Iernational Atomic Energy Agency. A big ceremony is planned for next Wednesday in Egypt and the Director General of the Iernational Atomic Energy Agency will be prese.”
According to him, “the level of cooperation with the Iernational Atomic Energy Agency has strengthened in rece mohs and we see significa value and impact in having an Iernational Atomic Energy Agency mission directly at the Zaporizhia nuclear power pla.”
Likhachev also noted that the possibility of iernational cooperation on the Zaporizhia nuclear power pla was discussed with the Director General of the Iernational Atomic Energy Agency.
