According to RCO News Agency, quoted by CBS TV, the US Senate approved a financial package that ends the shutdown of the federal governme by 60 votes in favor against 40 votes against. In this vote, eight Democrats supported the bill, along with almost all Republicans (except one).
This voting was done on Monday night (local time) and on the 41st day of the American governme holiday. The final approval of this bill happened a day after the initial vote on Sunday night (local time).
Now the bill will be se to the House of Represeatives for final approval; The parliame, which has not held a vote since September 19, is expected to resume its work on Wednesday.
On Sunday night, a group of moderate Democratic senators, tired of the coinued political deadlock, joined with the Republicans to pass the temporary resolution of the House of Represeatives known as the “Coinuity of Funding Resolution” in the Senate. The Democrats had previously blocked the advanceme of this bill 14 times.
