Atmospheric and oceanic parameters observatory of Geophysics Institute of Tehran University was officially put io operation with the presence of the Preside of Tehran University.
According to RCO News Agency, According to the public relations of Tehran University, in the official opening ceremony of the Atmospheric and Oceanic Parameters Observatory of the Institute of Geophysics of Tehran University, which was held in the presence of the officials and faculty members of the Institute of Geophysics, Dr. Mohammad Hossein Omid, the preside of Tehran University, thanked the people involved in setting up this observatory and called the Institute of Geophysics one of the leading ceers at the national level.
Major coury crises, caused by false or ieionally false information
Poiing to the water crisis as an example of the consequences of “false information”, Dr. Omid stated that the main solution to the coury’s problems is to make available correct and scieific data through ceers like this observatory and said: “Many of today’s crises in the coury are caused by false information.”
Poiing to the importance of “data” in importa decisions at the national level, the preside of Tehran University said: “The curre water crisis in the coury is caused by either the lack of correct information or the deliberate incorrect information that was given to the authorities in the past, and the decisions in this area were also based on this information, and the situation we are witnessing today is the result of the same incorrect information or deliberately incorrect information.”
The preside of the University of Tehran stated that solving the problem of the water crisis is now left to the university and added: The faculty members of the University of Tehran had warned about the incorrectness of the water resources statistics more than 20 years ago, but by transferring other incorrect statistics to the decision makers, the water resources were overloaded for years and today we are witnessing a critical situation in most parts of the coury.
Observatories and academic ceers are the sharp eyes of decision makers
Emphasizing that the establishme of such observatories narrows the field for those who cause problems for the coury with false information, Dr. Omid said: the university should take the lead in providing advice and not wait for the request of executive bodies.
He clarified: We all have to believe that we have serious problems in the coury and the only way to solve these problems is through universities and by transferring correct and correct information to the authorities, to make decisions based on facts.
In the end, the Preside of Tehran University, referring to the governme’s acceptance of the views of academics to solve the coury’s problems, meioned the consultation in the field of “expanding the use of solar panels” as one of the issues in which the Institute of Geophysics can provide systematic scieific advice to the governme.
The Observatory of Atmospheric and Oceanic Parameters of the Institute of Geophysics of Tehran University has been established with the aim of strengthening the research infrastructure and providing the scieific needs of the coury in the atmospheric and oceanic fields. All the systems of this observatory have been designed, launched and localized by the experts of Geophysics Institute. The data of this ceer will be widely used for researchers, studes, and also in various fields of application, including agriculture, transportation, crisis manageme, oil and gas, and tourism.
