
According to Mehr news agency, quoting Tehran University, in this specialized scieific meeting that was held on the 6th of October 1404 on the occasion of the 75th year of establishing diplomatic relations between Iran and Indonesia and at the invitation of the Departme of Regional Studies of the University of Tehran, the Iranian Association for Regional Studies and the Asia-Pacific Scieific Association in the conference hall of the Ceer for Advanced Iernational Studies of the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of the University of Tehran. RulianshahSumiratAmbassador of the Republic of Indonesia in Tehran, referring to the sevey-five years of diplomatic relations between the two couries, said: “Tehran-Jakarta relations have reached a stage where it should be changed from the political level to scieific cooperation and technologically be promoted.”
Stating that people-to-people communication, especially the academic community, is very importa for mutual understanding, the Indonesian ambassador announced the coury’s new plans to develop stude and professor exchanges and added: “We will use all capacities to expand academic cooperation.”
The Indonesian ambassador called higher education and improving the quality of human resources among the main priorities of his governme and addressed the universities and research ceers of the two couries: “To reduce scieific dependence on developed couries, it is necessary to establish a joi network in key areas such as information technology, artificial ielligence, clean energy and marine sciences between Iran and Indonesia.”
In another part of his speech, he discussed Indonesia’s geopolitical and economic views and said: “Indonesia’s policy is “balanced ieraction” with the powers, and Indonesia does not take sides in the competition between China and America and was economic cooperation with all parties, subject to mutual respect.”
Emphasizing the redefining of iernational institutions, he referred to the South-South cooperation model as the role of developing couries and said: “Developing couries should form coalitions like brix and ASEANto increase their bargaining power in the iernational economic system.
Samerat In another part of his speech, referring to the joi membership of two couries, Iran and Indonesia, in organizations such as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Non-Aligned Moveme and the brixon the need for synergy and cooperation in the coury He emphasized solving the problems of the Islamic world, the region and the world.
In the final part of his speech, the Ambassador of Indonesia addressed the coury’s three strategic issues in global issues.
Stating that his coury is against any unilateral sanctions, he emphasized the need to resolve the Iran nuclear issue through diplomacy and said: “Indonesia defends the right of all couries to use nuclear energy peacefully.”
Samerat Referring to the position of Indonesia as a coury consisting of islands, he called for scieific cooperation between Iran and Indonesia in the field of maritime governance, energy security, climate change and water economy so that the sea becomes a factor for unity and creating a model of sustainable developme.
After the speech, he answered the questions of the participas in this meeting about various iernational issues.
At the beginning of this meeting, Dr. Hamzeh Safavi, director of the regional studies group of the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences, called for the practical expansion of the relations between the two couries, especially the university cooperation between the two couries of Iran and Indonesia, and said: “I hope that these cooperations will be expanded and operational by signing the memorandums and coracts between the universities of the two couries.”
