According to Mehr news agency, quoted by Al-Mayadin, Colombian Preside Gustavo Petro reacted to the insult of US Preside Donald Trump.
He added: “Trump’s insult to Colombia and myself is not aimed at realizing the active strategy of fighting drugs.”
The preside of Colombia emphasized: Trump’s goal is to influence next year’s Colombian elections and make a renewed effort for the victory of the extreme right.
Earlier, the Preside of Colombia announced that he will defend himself in court against the accusations brought against him by some high-ranking officials in the United States.
Petro also emphasized that he will always stand against genocide and organized terror in the Caribbean region.
The Preside of Colombia further added: Whenever the American community asks us to cooperate in fighting drug trafficking, Colombia will be ready to provide assistance.
Petro’s words come hours after US Preside Donald Trump threatened Colombia and said: “Maybe we will take very serious measures against Colombia.”
In an open insult to the preside of Colombia, Donald Trump called him a supporter of drug trafficking and said: Colombian Preside Gustavo Petro is the leader of the drug cartel and the United States will cut off its aid to Colombia.
