According to the Mehr news agency, quoted by the Vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, Hossein Afshin emphasized the complete separation of the duties of the National Science Foundation of Iran and the National Elite Foundation and said: The National Elite Foundation is focused on identifying and supporting students, students and newly hired professors; While the National Science Foundation of Iran, a model similar to international institutions, is the main custodian of providing research support to professors.
The vice president emphasized: Only professors can refer to the National Science Foundation, so basically it is not parallel to the National Elite Foundation.
Enumerating a structural need, Afshin stated: We must pay special attention to this issue; Other research centers should gather and we should have a centralized foundation similar to other countries so that this science foundation can provide proper support to professors.
In response to a question about whether this approach will mean the dissolution of research institutes, he answered in the negative and explained: The main goal is to consolidate financial resources. The main reason for this concentration is to create a centralized arbitration process and a competitive environment.
In the end, the academic vice president said about the quotas of scientific institutions: the amount of applications and admissions of each university can be seen transparently on the website of the foundation. In fact, people in this space are fighting for and winning that scholarly support, which is a very important point.
