The “Zhongshuge” library was built in an area with Italian architecture in the city of “Tianjin”, China, and it is a redefinition of the harmony between coemporary design and classical texture. Inspired by the brick architecture of the last ceury, this project establishes a deep connection between the cultural space of China and Italy. Inspired by the structure of shutters, Zhongshuge designers have turned the dense arrangeme of bricks io a show of light and shadow. This innovative method creates a balance between transparency and strength and gives a modern spirit to the space while preserving the traditional elemes. In the ceer of the library, dark blue steel layers evoke the waves of Tianjin port; A symbol of the maritime spirit of the city and the spread of knowledge. The arches and stairs connected to the shelves remind the moveme of the ships and evoke a journey from the port to the sea of thought.

More than 400,000 custom bricks and steel were used in the construction of Zhongshuge Library.
