In the heart of the limestone rocks of the island of “Palawan” (Palawan) in the Philippines, the “Cocoon Sphere Havens” design project of the Iranian architecture group “Powish” offers a new vision of sustainable living. Designed in the shape of a pearl with artificial ielligence, these spherical residences will create a differe experience of living by the sea by combining structural elegance and respect for tropical nature. The idea of designing cocoon structures is inspired by pearls and their spherical shape is a symbol of stability and coinuity. Each capsule is placed on differe heights of the rocks so as to cause minimal damage to the stone structure. The transpare and reflective surfaces of the body are in a visual dialogue with the sky and the ocean and make the architecture a part of the landscape and not an external factor.
The ieriors of the spherical Cocoon residences feature unobstructed views of the bay and surrounding cliffs, with curved glass walls. Suspended pools with transpare bottom give the feeling of floating above the horizon. Minimal design, natural textures and warm tropical light have created a calm environme and a feeling of liberation.
The structure of the cocoon capsules consists of a prefabricated light frame and resista composite panels so that the construction can be done in a modular way with minimal ierveion on the ground. The connection pois are designed according to the unevenness of the rocks to maiain stability and harmony with the natural topography.

On the sustainability side, Cocoon residences are built on passive design principles; Natural veilation with sea breezes, glass with solar shades, reflective coatings for heat corol, and rainwater collection and water recycling systems. Energy is also supplied from renewable sources. The organic scattering of cocoon capsules over the rocks will remind of the natural growth of corals on the seabed, and each residence will have a unique view of the ocean and surrounding islands.
