The Audubon Bird Photography Awards in the year 8, again celebrated the stunning splendor and variety of birds, while also emphasizing the vital role of photography in environmeal protection. This year’s competition was of particular importance; For the first time it expanded beyond the United States and Canada, and Chile and Colombia, known as the amazing diversity of their birds. These areas are the habitat of numerous immigra species and play a key role in Adoban’s mission to protect habitats and strengthen climatic resilience in the American coine.
This year’s promine innovations include the iroduction of two new parts of “Bureaucratic Birds” and “Conservation”. This change indicates the increasing atteion to the role of birds in linking coineal ecosystems and the power of images in inspiration to protect nature. Selected images are not only artistic, but are also reminisce of the fragility of the ecosystems on which birds depend on.
This year’s winning photos depicted extraordinary momes; From the delicacy of the butterfly of a fly chicken in the middle of the flight to the dramatic iensity of winged huers in the moveme and iimacy of pare birds while taking care of their chickens. Each image is both an artistic work and a testame to patience, accuracy and deep respect for their subjects.
The distinctive feature of these images is their ability to cross the borders, and this sense of coinuity is a reflection of Adoban’s mission and reminding that the preservation of birds is the common responsibility of all human beings.
