The Gulf Cooperation Council and the European Union issued a joi stateme on Monday: The Joi Council (sides) on the importance of adhering to iernational laws, including the UN Charter, respect for sovereigy, territorial iegrity, non -ierference in domestic affairs,
The Joi Stateme issued by the GCC and the European Union coinued: The Joi Council poied to the restoration of the UN sanctions and nuclear restrictions against Iran. Iensive diplomatic efforts with Iran, including during the UN General Assembly, by four European couries and many iernational partners, did not lead to conditions for the renewal of UN Security Council Resolution. The Joi Council emphasizes that the return of sanctions does not mean the end of diplomacy with Iran. Our position is that only political and diplomatic efforts can lead to a sustainable solution to the Iranian nuclear issue. The Joi Council appreciates the positive role of Oman’s monarchy in facilitating dialogue between releva parties as well as coinuing European efforts.
The Joi Council emphasized the importance of resuming the full cooperation between Iran and the Iernational Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and calls on Iran to return to its obligatory legal sanctions and thus build trust and strengthen regional and global security and stability.
