According to Mehr corresponde, Dr. Seyed Eskandar Sidai, head of the Mapping Organization and Vice Preside of the State Budget and Budget Organization, told Mehr reporter on the sidelines of the Brex Group’s Spatial Information Working Group meeting today: “Today Iran is hosting a specialized and two -day special meeting with the issue of information manageme.”
Referring to the importance of location information, he said: In today’s world, data governing, especially spatial data, is one of the most importa aspects of sustainable developme and the realization of sustainable developme is possible when planning is based on scieific, transpare, accurate and reliable data.
Sidaii added: “The science sciences, which combine mapping, geology and other related sciences, extract the spatial data and convert to maps, systems and information that is managed by couries and the world in order to impleme planning and futuristic planning.”
He coinued: Today’s meeting is one of the esseial issues, namely the governance of spatial data in the Brix Group. Brix is a collection that covers half of the world’s population and there are strong couries in the field of GDP. The collection operates in a union that focuses on free trade, free economy and the monopoly of large powers such as the US and some European couries.
The head of the coury’s mapping organization said: Iran’s presence as hosting the summit was an opportunity for Brix member states, including Russia, India, China, Brazil, Indonesia, South Africa and other couries to share their one -year experiences and activities related to information technologies. The two -day summit, which was held today on the first day, preseed an instance of iegrating satellite data, drones, aerial imaging and spatial GPS information that are used in various areas including transportation, urban manageme, sustainable developme and crisis manageme.
Sidaii poied to the activities carried out in Iran and said: “Our coury has been able to create a location system at the national level by using GIS systems and geographical databases and cover all importa devices in the coury.” The system has made it possible to iegrate economic and social data with space dimensions, and more than 5,000 layers of map and spatial information have been shared between differe devices and provinces.
He added: “These valuable experiences were preseed in the form of a specialized report at the summit and emphasized the importance of sharing data and cooperation between member states.”
“Such meetings are a good platform for exchange of knowledge and experience and strengthening multilateral scieific and technological cooperation,” Sidai said.
Responding to a question from Mehr reporter about the output of the meeting and the model of cooperation between the member states, he said: “These meetings act as one of the key organizations in data exchange, preseing new innovations and experiences between couries.” These partnerships lead to better synergy, unity and developme among Brix members, and documeing the findings and experiences is provided to couries.
Sidayei emphasized: Working groups in each coury work on various topics throughout the year and will prese their progress and achievemes in subseque meetings. The Islamic Republic of Iran is seriously working to engage and cooperate with powerful Brix member states such as Russia, China and India, especially in the field of data governance to enhance the developme of spatial technologies.
