According to the officials, Tel Aviv urged the Trump administration to iervene in the process after failing to talk directly with Cairo.

Egypt’s implicit response to Netanyahu’s request from Trump

In response, the Egyptian Ielligence Agency issued a stateme that the presence of the Egyptian army in Sinai or any other part of the coury is “based on the evaluations of high military leadership to maiain national security”.

The forces in Sina have been deployed to secure borders and couer threats such as terrorism and trafficking, and this presence is in full coordination with the parties of the Peace Treaty, the stateme said.

Cairo also reiterated its full opposition to “the developme of military operations in Gaza and efforts to displace the Palestinians” and emphasized: Egypt has always supported the Palestinian people’s right to form an independe state at the June 4 border of Eastern Quds.
