Brazil joined Israel’s South African complai – Mehr News Agency | Iranian and world news

The Iernational Court of Justice (ICJ) announced that Brazil has formally iervened in a South African complai against the Zionist regime over violating the Genocide Conveion in the Gaza Strip, Mehr News Agency reported.
According to a stateme by the Court, Brazil dated September 9 has submitted an ierveion stateme in accordance with Article 4 of the Statute of the Court. This article gives the couries the right to iervene in couries that are ierpreted by the Court.
Brazil said in a stateme that he used the right as a member of the Conveion on the prohibition of genocide.
He has also emphasized that the ierpretation of articles one, two and three of the Conveions in this case is subject to judgme and has preseed its legal views.
The Court has emphasized that any ierpretation that is issued in the final seence will also be binding for Brazil.
Accordingly, the Court has called on South Africa and the Zionist regime to prese their written opinion on Brazilian ierveion.
The South African case against Israel was registered on December 5. It has accused Tel Aviv of violating its commitmes under the Genocide Conveion on attacks against Palestinians in Gaza.
Since then, the Court has issued a set of temporary measures that require Israel to preve the crime of genocide.
Brazil joined couries such as Colombia, Mexico, Spain, Türkiye, Chile and Ireland, who have so far called for ierveion in the case.
The Iernational Court of Justice, headed by the Hague, is the main jurisdiction of the United Nations and is investigating legal disputes between couries.
