Portugal iends to recognize Palestine, according to the Mehr News Agency.
The Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs was announced, adding that the announceme of the recognition of the Palestinian Independe State would be made on Sunday.
The move occurs hours after French Preside Emmanuel Macron announced that his coury would recognize the Independe Palestinian state at the United Nations Monday this week.
He said: “I again announced to Mahmoud Abbas that France will recognize the” Palestinian governme in New York “on Monday.
Macron emphasized that recognizing the Palestinian state is “part of a comprehensive regional peace plan” aimed at providing Israelis and Palestinians in the field of security and peace.
The French preside also said that Abbas has again determined to impleme the necessary reforms aimed at renovating the structure of Palestinian governance and couering the challenges of stability in the future of Palestine.
“We will coinue to support Palestinian institutions and guaraee that we fulfill our obligations to secure and stability in the region,” Macron added.
The French presideial office also warned in a stateme that “the annexation of the West Bank is a bright red line.”
AFP also quoted Elysee as saying that four couries, including France, will recognize the Palestinian governme during the New York conference on Monday.
Earlier, Luxembourg, another European coury, announced that it iends to recognize the independe Palestinian state.
