Anonymous British artist Banksi appeared on the outer wall of the Royal Court of London on Monday, September 9, but was erased just hours later by the executives of the historic collection.
The wall paiing was performed as a Shablooni, showing a judge with a traditional hat and a robe that attacks the ground by hammering. The protester had a bloody placard.
According to the Independe, court executives said the nine -year -old neo -style building should “maiain its historical autheicity”. Immediately after the publication of the photo on the official Banksi Instagram, the wall was covered with black plastic and metal barriers and security guards protected it.
London Metropolitan Police has confirmed that it is investigating the “deliberate destruction” of the building. A spokesman for Banksi has not yet answered the media question.
The move coincided with political discussions about the Palestine Action. The British governme has banned the group’s activity and has described it as a terrorist organization. About five people were arrested in rece protests against the ban in London. Some activists have described the new Benxi work as an indirect reference to this issue.
The Court of Appeal had previously denied the group’s request for appeal, but a Supreme Court judge allowed the process to coinue. The governme is still protesting the decision.
