Dr. Dinarvand said on the sidelines of the Mustafa Prize Advisory Council meeting: Today’s meeting was held with the participation of four promine scholars of the Islamic world.
He added: Members of this advisory committee have a two -year period and during this time they will ideify the problems of Islamic couries and provide solutions. Today’s session, which lasted about three hours, was dedicated to this.
The head of the Mustafa Foundation’s Arbitration Committee described the output of these meetings as the formation of workgroups that focus in differe areas, adding: Members prese their solutions to the foundation. These solutions are used both at the Mustafa Foundation and at the Organization of the Islamic Conference and other iernational scieific platforms.
Dinarvand said about the goals of these meetings: Producing documes for the Organization of the Islamic Conference is one of our other goals in order to formulate appropriate policies for scieific and technology developme in the Islamic world and increase the share of Islamic couries in this area.
Referring to the position of Mustafa’s award in connecting Islamic scieists, he added: “This award is one of the most importa scieific awards in the Islamic world, preseed by the Mustafa Science and Technology Foundation and has been held five periods without a state budget.” The award is worth about $ 6,000 and is awarded to promine scholars of Islamic couries as well as Muslim scholars living outside of these couries.
He emphasized that the scieists of the Mustafa Prize are becoming patterns for youth and researchers in the field of science and technology in the Islamic world and their successful experience can help develop science and technology in the region.
The head of the Mustafa Foundation’s Arbitration Committee poied to the developme of scieific endowme in the award: Some winners have donated their total amou to the Foundation for youth and academics, and others have accepted short -term courses in their laboratories for studes and researchers. Our main goal at the Mustafa Foundation is to develop and develop cooperation among Islamic scieists.
He poied to the challenges of Islamic couries: Although some couries are economically and scieifically in a good position, in general the share of the Islamic world is economically, scieific production and inveions less than the population of about one billion Muslims.
Referring to some of the reasons for the backwardness of Islamic couries, Dinarvand stated: The reasons for this backwardness include inefficie governme manageme, low investme in research and developme, and lack of access to education. Resolving these issues and increasing investmes is the most importa way to promote the scieific and technology status of Islamic couries.
He said that while the Zionist enemy has about 2 % investme in research and developme, this figure in Islamic couries is less than one perce. To succeed, we need to increase investme and serious atteion to science and technology.
He added that despite the significa population of Islamic couries, their share in the economy and science of the world is less than expected. One of the main reasons for this backwardness is the inefficie manageme of the macro level of governmes and the lack of prioritization of technology.
Dinarvand emphasized: The lack of focus on technology and innovation has created major restrictions on the economic and scieific developme of Islamic couries.
Dinarvand emphasized that Islamic couries in the advanced areas of technology are still far from leading couries, adding: “In addition, our investmes in the fields of science and technology are not sufficie and should be increased.” Fortunately, the Mustafa Foundation and members of the Advisory Committee are trying to strengthen this path.
He said: “Our task in the foundation, and especially in the position of the Arbitration Committee and the Advisory Committee, is to guide and support the developme of science and technology in the Islamic world to increase the share of Islamic couries in the field of science and technology.”
