Jordan: Israel’s goal is to prolong war in the region – Mehr News Agency | News of Iran and the World

Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman al -Safadi told a joi news conference with his Russian couerpart Sergei Lavrov in Moscow: Israeli policies aim to prolong the conflict and expand its corol over areas in Palestinian territories, even in Lebanon and Syria.

Al -Safadi added: “The world should immediately stop Israel’s actions that will only lead to further destruction and clashes in the region.”

The Jordanian Foreign Minister noted: The only option that serves the stability of the region is the Arabic initiative based on the solution of two couries. The Israeli prime minister directs a malicious project in the region through genocide in the Gaza Strip and the expansion of the West Bank.

He warned: Israel is making the situation in Syria and Lebanon even worse. We emphasize the need for Israel to be accouable for efforts to achieve a ceasefire to end the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.

“We support Qatar, Egypt and the United States to reach a cease -fire agreeme in Gaza,” the Jordanian minister said, while appreciating Russia’s positions against Israeli inhumane actions in the Gaza Strip. We also welcome European decisions to recognize the Palestinian state and call on other couries to join them.

Al -Safadi also referred to the developmes in Syria and said: “We support the rebuilding of Syria and the territorial iegrity and its citizens.” We work with Damascus and Washington to find solutions to the state of Sweda based on the unity of Syria. Israeli aggression is the cause of the crisis in Syria, and we call for its immediate end.
